Book review: The Miracles of the Namiya General Store/Namiya Zakkaten No Kiseki.
Sinopsis:
The book begins with first chapter tell about three thieves trying to hide in an empty house that used to be the Namiya General Store. An odd thing happens to the three of them where suddenly a letter arrives at the shop without any trace of who the sender of the letter is. Feeling abnormal about timeline in the house and there were oddities in the letter received by them. When the they decide to reply the letter and get a reply from someone from 30 years ago, the story of Namiya General Store begins.
Review:
Written by Keigo Higashino published in 2012, The Miracles of the Namiya General Store’s story is broken up into five chapters. Each chapter begins with the perspective of a different character from a different timeline. Each chapter feels like a different story, otherwise as a readers we still discover how each chapter connects to the others. Reading this mystery-fiction novel have similiar feeling compare to watching K-drama series: Hospital playlist, or Reply 1988 from author Lee Woo Jung. You could reading whatever chapter without feeling odd and the most enjoyable thing is the story telling way easy to understand, heartwarming and the plot itself is quite simple.
if you’re looking for light read a novel with a roller coaster emotional journeys, no need to finish in hurry cause you can jump into any chapter without feeling lost, then The Namiya General Store is your destination. Its kind of novel with a reading experience you won’t soon forget. Last but not least, to conclude this review, I will choose the best quote from this novel:
